About The NDDCB SYMPOSIUM

The National Dangerous Drugs Control Board (NDDCB) is pleased to announce the 2nd International Symposium on Drug-Related Studies 2024, set to take place in December 2024. This event is a continuation of our commitment to advancing the field of drug prevention and control through research and collaboration. The symposium will bring together leading experts, researchers, and practitioners to discuss the latest developments and strategies in drug control, emphasizing a balanced and coordinated approach involving prevention, treatment, and research.


The symposium will feature a diverse range of tracks, including drug prevention, early interventions, treatment, and science and innovations in drug prevention and control. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in discussions on innovative approaches, share research findings, and explore collaborative solutions to address the challenges of drug abuse and control. Additionally, the event will offer both physical and virtual presentation modes to accommodate a global audience and ensure broad participation.


The overall goal of the 2nd International Symposium on Drug-Related Studies 2024 is to foster a comprehensive and collaborative dialogue on drug prevention and control. By bringing together global experts and stakeholders, the symposium aims to enhance understanding, share cutting-edge research, and develop effective strategies for addressing drug-related challenges. Ms. Sheila Kamdar
Regional Technical Officer for the International Narcotics Control Board (INCB), United Nations

Ms. Sheila Kamdar is the Regional Technical Officer for the International Narcotics Control Board (INCB), United Nations. She is based in New Delhi and she covers the South Asia region. Ms. Kamdar is part of the Global Rapid Interdiction of Dangerous Substances (GRIDS) team which is focused on the illicit trafficking of new psychoactive substances (NPS), non-medical synthetic opioids, fentanyl and related substances (FRS), and other dangerous substances. She has conducted international trainings throughout Asia for front-line officers to raise their awareness on NPS and to provide practical guidance on the safe interdiction of dangerous substances.
Ms. Kamdar has fifteen years of professional experience with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration from the American University in Washington D.C.
